What Sets Us Apart

For those who prefer meaningful travel experiences over crowded tour buses and rigid itineraries, Roam Your Own offers private, customized tours that showcase the Canadian Rockies through a local and environmentally responsible lens.

With small group sizes, personalized itineraries, and expert guidance, your adventure will feel less like a tour—and more like exploring the breathtaking Rocky Mountains with a knowledgeable friend.

A Local Guide, Rooted in the Rockies

Roam Your Own is a family-owned business founded in Canmore, Alberta, by lifelong local Deanna Quinlan. As a certified Interpretive Guide with Banff National Park and a passionate outdoor enthusiast, Deanna has been exploring the trails and wild spaces of the Rockies for over 15 years.

“The mountains have always been home. I grew up hiking these trails and finding peace in their quiet beauty. It brings me great joy to share this place with others in a way that values sustainability, respect, and a true connection to the landscape.”

Environmentally Responsible by Design

Roam Your Own operates with a strong commitment to sustainability. Using hybrid-electric vehicles, each tour minimizes environmental impact while allowing guests to access quieter, lesser-known locations in comfort. Small group sizes (1–5 people) ensure a low-impact, immersive experience that puts the focus on the natural beauty of the region.
